• We should never underestimate what we have
When the woman was asked what she had in her house, she said ”nothing except a little oil”. You can see that she underestimated what she had! Meanwhile, what she had, though small, was enough for God to deliver her family from debt, and her sons from enslavement. This is a huge lesson for everyone! We should never underestimate whatever we have since they come from above (1 Corinthians 4:7), and God is still in the business of using those things we sometimes consider foolish, weak, infinitesimal, unsophisticated, unexciting, etc. to show His clout. Apostle Paul corroborated this view in 1 Corinthians 1:27 as follows: ”But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty”.
As from today, please refrain from underestimating your unique talents, potentials, idiosyncrasies, educational and professional attainments, resources, health, authority, connections, business, ministry etc. Use them to the glory of God; be humble with them too, and in the process of time, He will use them to lift you up (Psalm 147:6) in Jesus name. Amen.
