I had an older friend when I was in the Primary School. He was a very good man, ever smiling, very kind and patient with everyone. He was then working in a company and doing well by all standards. I used to be a regular caller at his residence!
One day, I went to his residence, and I met him crying; he was really disturbed, and I asked him why. Initially, he was reluctant to answer me, a mere small boy, but he had to talk to someone anyway. Eventually, he told me he lost his job earlier in the day, and he wondered how he would cope without it.
He also said other things, which my young brain could not process at that time. But, I knew I had to do something quickly. So, I said what I thought my mum would have said if she was there with us. That is, ‘God will help you, and you will be fine’. He never expected such comment from a small boy like me, judging by his countenance. Instantly, he smiled, wiped away his tears, and said ‘amen, thank you ’Adedayo’.
His situation soon grew worse; he could not pay his children’s school fees or feed them properly anymore. He was also under immense pressure from his company to give up his official accommodation and car. No doubt, he needed help, which was not forthcoming from anywhere.
But despite his worsening situation, my friend trusted God to help him out. He prayed, fasted, and applied for jobs everywhere. In the end, after some months, he landed a job, far more lucrative than the one he lost.
Before long, his children went back to school, and he was able to take care of his family properly again. He also bought a new car, and moved his family into the house he purchased through his new company. No doubt, ‘God helped him, and he was fine’.
Friend, perhaps you lost something dear to you in the year 2017, e.g., your job, spouse, health, helper, opportunities, possessions, resources, favours, etc., and so, you could not attain your set goals, and you are worried about your future, I have good news for you; God will help you, and you will be fine. However, you need to pray. You may need to fast too.
You will be fine, your family will be fine (Isaiah 49:25), your work will be fine (Deuteronomy 28:12), your health will be fine (Jeremiah 30:17), and your plans will be fine (Jeremiah 29:11). Besides, God will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).
He shall keep you away from evil reports, implicating situations, and scandals. He shall deliver you from errors, mistakes, and misjudgements as well, and His name shall be glorified in your life at all times, in Jesus name. Amen.
Merry Christmas in advance.
