Who is Your Foundation?

In Luke 6:47-49, Jesus Christ described whoever hears his sayings and does them as someone who built his house on a solid foundation of rock whereas, he described whoever does nothing about them as someone who built his house on mere sand.  While the former house withstood harsh onslaught on it, the latter fell like a pack of cards because it had no foundation. This account brought to fore the importance of solid foundation.

Now, before we go any further with this write-up, I will like us to look around the words ‘foundation and solid foundation’ first.  By definition, a foundation is a natural or prepared ground on which structures rest and it is said to be solid if it can withstand varying degree of attacks on it.  In Civil Engineering, solid foundations are products of painstaking activities and they usually outlive the structures built on them.

Solid foundations are important in all facets of life.  For example, a solid foundation of adequate resources is important in business while prolonged, targeted and relevant exercises is the solid foundation needed in sports and academic excellence depends largely on a solid foundation arising from long hours of organized reading etc.

Also in Christendom, we need a solid foundation (the most solid of all foundations) to thrive on.  And Apostle Paul confirmed this foundation to be Jesus Christ.  In 1 Corinthians 3:11 He said:  ‘’For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ’’.  Friend, this foundation is strong enough to carry all your circumstances, your family, business, education, health, salvation, and eternal life etc (Luke 1:37) and the good news is that it is all yours immediately you surrender your life to Jesus Christ; that is, immediately you become born again (John 6:37).  So, make the move right now!

Perhaps you surrendered your life to Him in the past but you are not too sure of your status now; if that is the case with you then, why don’t you consider rededicating your life to Him today? Please note that He is willing to accept and forgive you all your sins (Isaiah 1:18).  But if you are all right with Him; excellent!  Certainly, He will see you through the rest of your life however, you must be vigilant (1 Corinthians 10:12).

Finally, do not forget that it is your responsibility to keep your association with Jesus Christ alive.  This you can do among other ways by:  1. Keeping away from evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). 2. Praying regularly (1 Thessalonians 5:17).  The Holy Spirit can help you out here (Romans 8:26).  3.  Reading your bible faithfully (Joshua 1:8).  4.  Winning souls for Him (Proverbs 11:30).  If you keep to this and similar guidelines then, you will prosper on earth ad-infinitum and attain heaven at the end of the day.  May the good Lord help you all the way through in Jesus name.  Amen.

Jesus is Lord!

Jesus Christ is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

Above is a very familiar bible quotation, which is often cited in Christendom to buttress the belief that, Jesus Christ is strictly unchangeable.  It serves as the motto of several Churches, Christian organizations, corporate bodies, and individuals all over the world.  And it can be found on posters affixed to the back of bibles and other Christian literatures, notice boards, bill boards, walls of buildings, cars, etc. far and wide.  Some people even tattoo it on their bodies! But it is a statement of fact, which I, like several other people, can attest to by means of testimonies.  It is my pleasure to narrate some of mine under the following headings.

1.  Jesus, the unchanging ultimate Healer

This testimony is aimed at portraying Jesus Christ as the unchanging ultimate healer.  He is very adept at healing people and the bible attests to this fact thus:   ‘’And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people’’ (Matthew 4:23) . His proficiency has not diminished a bit since then.

Mr KAN (not the real name), a close associate of ours, once developed a rare, but very complicated neurological problem, which crippled him physically and mentally for nearly four years.  He was seen by many brilliant doctors in Nigeria and abroad, but none of them could heal him.  He later, out of desperation, employed the services of native doctors, sorcerers, occultists, witches and wizards etc. still, none of them could help him out.  Things went so bad for him such that, by the time we met him, he wasn’t interested in living anymore.  Anyway, we gave him hope and led him to Christ.  We also arranged deliverance for him and he was totally healed to the glory of God.  Mr KAN lived a normal life and regained all that the Devil stole from him when he was ill thereafter.  This testimony confirms once again, that Jesus Christ is still in the business of healing people and that, He is truly the same yesterday, today and forever.

Friend, do you or anyone close to you need healing today? If you do please, turn to Jesus and He will sort you out (Matthew 11:28).  Amen.

2.  Jesus, the unchanging Giver of result oriented direction

Jesus Christ is the only person who is capable of giving people consistent and purposeful direction.  In Acts Chapter 9, Saul (later called Paul) went to Damascus to persecute Christians and he did so with much vehemence, till he was struck down with blindness from heaven.  And as a consequence of this incidence, he became helpless and sought assistance from God saying: ‘’Lord, what do you want me to do?’’ (Acts 9:6a).  And Jesus gave him a result oriented direction as follows:  “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do” (Acts 9:6b).  He complied with the instruction and that marked the beginning of his mind-boggling success story on earth.

Back home in Nigeria, my wife and I needed urgent and continual financial assistance which nobody we approached, was ready to give us.  And this brings to the fore what is written in Lamentations 4:17 that is, ‘’ Still our eyes failed us, watching vainly for our help; in our watching we watched for a nation that could not save us’’.  In the end, we sought direction from Jesus, which came via a Holy Spirit led revelation from one of our fathers in the Lord during a prayer meeting.  In it, we were led to buy and sell patent medicines, in addition to our normal professional duties.  By the way, nothing prepared us for this type of business, but we complied promptly with a meager capital of £120.

Before long, God expanded the business beyond our wildest imagination, and in less than six months, our capital base increased from £120 to over £2,500 (i.e. by over £2,380 or almost 2,000%) which was and still is a lot of money in Nigeria.  Now, if we had left our initial capital of £120 in a bank account for six months without touching it, it would not have given us up to £20 as interest (i.e. an increment of 24%, as against the nearly 2000% that we eventually had). But because we obeyed God, He blessed us much more than what we bargained for, and our business outfit became the reference point in our area.  Not only that, from the profits of this venture, we met all our financial obligations, and blessed other people as well.  Just as Jesus gave the people of old result oriented direction, so is He able to give us same in this age as well, if we allow Him (Isaiah 30:21).  Remember that he is the same yesterday, today and forever.

3.  Jesus, the unchanging Giver of children

God is the unchanging Giver of children. Remember that He gave Hannah, Sarah, Rachael, Elizabeth etc., all barren women, choice children even though, they had earlier been written off. Jesus is also highly proficient at giving children to those desirous of them (John 5:19).

I met Mrs S.E (not the real name) in Nigeria many years back. She was unable to have children, ten years post marriage; and she was under intense pressure from her husband’s family to either give birth to a baby within a stipulated short period of time, or face the humiliation of being thrown out of her matrimonial home. Such is a common occurrence in our background! Prior to that time, and afterwards, she saw many first-class Gynaecologists in Nigeria and abroad, but none of them could help her out of her predicament. Then one day, while crying inside her car at the car park of our hospital, a born again, Holy Spirit filled, Consultant Pathologist (not even a Gynaecologist) came up to give her succor, and she narrated her ordeals to him. Then, he told her very simply that Jesus would give her a child, and she believed him. Afterwards, he led her to Christ, and decreed a child into existence for her in the name of Jesus Christ. Guess what? She became pregnant the following month, without any medical help, and she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, nine months later to the glory of God.

Are you or someone close to you desirous of having children? Have you been told that you can no longer have yours? If your answer is yes, then I have good news for you! Please approach Jesus Christ, the unchanging giver of children today, and I trust that He’ll fix you up before long. Amen.

4.  Jesus, the unchanging Provider of watertight security

Jesus Christ is also the unchanging Provider of waterproof security (Psalm 127:1).

I once worked in a town, located within the potentially prosperous, but inexcusably neglected and poverty stricken oil and gas producing Niger Delta region of Nigeria.  The town was infested with all manners of criminals including armed robbers, and at a time, almost all the people that I know there had been robbed at one time or the other and all of them had very terrible tales to tell.  We were not exempted!  At about 1.30am one day, a gang of about ten (10) fierce looking, marijuana smoking, very noisy, and fully armed robbers invaded our residence.  And from the outset, it was clear to us that they came to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10:10).

Initially, they tried all they could to gain entrance into our house by force, but they failed in their bid nevertheless, they persisted.  Then in a split second, I remembered Jesus Christ and some of the earth shaken miracles that he performed strictly after giving thanks to God.  For example, I remembered that He gave thanks to God before raising Lazarus up from the tomb (John 11:1-44), and before feeding four thousand people with seven loaves and fish (Mathew 15:32-39).  Armed with the cases above, my wife and I joined our hands together, and we gave thanks to God and asked Him to save us.   Our prayer was very brief and it went thus: Father we thank you because each time we call on you, you always answer us.  Today, save us from the cruel hands of these armed robbers, and let this siege end now in Jesus name, amen”.  Then, we sat down on our bed and waited for God to act on our behalf.

And after a while, one of the armed robbers spoke in a subdued but determine voice that he would like to opt out of the robbery operation, because according to him, since we chose not to talk or panic, he was dead sure that we were up to something sinister.  He also said he sensed a palpably frightening force, which he was not prepared to confront, backing us.  Please remember that we were dealing with extremely dangerous criminals, who were dead high on drugs here!  Some other members of the gang soon supported him, and before we knew what was happening, a loud dispute erupted among them, and they left our compound in disarray to the utter disbelief of their leader.  Eventually, he (their leader) too, with his gun dangling sloppily behind him, and his head bowed down, scaled over the fence, and melted into the dark. And immediately, Acts 2:21 zoomed into my mind.  It says: ”And it shall come to pass, that whoever calls on the Lord shall be saved”.  Their hasty retreat from our abode also brought to life Deuteronomy 28:7, which says: ”The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways”.

Is insecurity to your life and properties a problem to you at the moment? If it is, then submit yourself under the care of Jesus Christ, the unchanging Provider of waterproof security, He will keep you safe.  Amen.

We have so far ascertained that Jesus Christ is the unchanging ultimate healer, the unchanging Giver of result oriented direction, the unchanging Giver of children and the unchanging Provider of waterproof security.  It is therefore very clear, that power truly belongs to Him (Matthew 28:18) and that He is still in the habit of performing miracles.  He is ready to accommodate you in his plans as well, if you permit Him.  So, I encourage you not to give up if you are currently experiencing any problem; no matter how flimsy or tough it might be.  Just commit it into His hands today and He will sort it out for you before long because He genuinely cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).  Without doubt, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever!  Hallelujah, Amen.

Jesus is Lord!

Try Jesus!

Matthew 9:20-22 narrates the story of a woman who had a flow of blood of twelve years duration. It is on record that she spent all she had on physicians, yet, her condition did not improve.

Please permit me to quickly add here that in her part of the world, hemorrhaging women are considered impure, and so, are avoided. No one is expected to support them in any way too. Theirs was indeed a very pathetic existence! However, reprieve came the way of this woman the moment she touched the hem of the garment of Jesus Christ.

Many lessons can be deduced from the story above, but for the purpose of this write up, we shall only consider the following.

1. Long standing problems are not restricted to a particular person, group of people, or age and time alone

There are loads of instances in the bible, and in these days, when people had to endure long standing problems. This woman’s case is a classic example. Naaman’s is another! He was a reputable general in the Syrian army, but he had Leprosy, a long standing, degrading, and disfiguring skin problem (2 Kings 5:1-14). What about the man who had an infirmity for thirty eight years (John 5:1-9)? These examples and others, confirm that long standing problems are not restricted to a particular person, group of people, age, or time alone. King Solomon confirmed this position in Ecclesiastes 1:9 as follows: “That which has been is what will be. That which is done is what will be done. And there is nothing new under the sun’’.

2. It pays to seek help from the source of ultimate power

The woman went everywhere and consulted a large number of doctors, all to no avail. Going to Medical Doctors for professional help on its own is a very laudable idea, because God gave them their great skill, and every right thinking person should consult them (Ecclesiasticus 38:1-15). Nevertheless, we Medical Doctors sometimes find it rather hard to restore some patients back to full health. In such situation, affected patients should not lose hope; they should simply switch over to the source of ultimate power; Jesus Christ, for deliverance. He confirmed being the custodian of ultimate power in Matthew 28:18 as follows: “…All authority (power) has been given to me in heaven and on earth’’.

3. Victory is certain if we seek help from the source of ultimate power

Thank goodness the woman sought help from Jesus Christ; the source of ultimate power. She touched the hem of his garment, and straightaway, her long standing hemorrhage, body weakness, helplessness, hopelessness, loneliness, rejection, isolation, shame, and sorrow came to an end. She became a brand new person; clean, pure, whole, and unstoppable, to the glory of God.

Friend, it is evident from all indications that seeking help from the source of ultimate power is synonymous with astonishing success, and you too can get all things done through Him. No wonder why the legendary Apostle Paul said: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13) ’’.

Perhaps you or somebody close to you is struggling with a long standing problem at the moment, and help seems to be nonexistent; don’t worry; the right time has come for you to seek help from the source of ultimate power; Jesus Christ, the son of God! Please convey your concerns to him in prayers today. You may even have to fast at some point, if need be (Matthew 17:21).

Supposing you have prayed and fasted on several occasions in the past, but it seems you are getting nowhere, please don’t give up! Just try again and again, because very soon, you will come out triumphant over your problem, and your joy will be full in Jesus name (John 16:23-24). Amen.

In Revelation 3:8, Jesus Christ said: ‘’…Behold I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it…‘’.

This is a remarkable pronouncement that is extremely relevant to us in this dispensation.  It is obviously uplifting because it assures us of absolute freedom from the clutches of the Devil and inexhaustible opportunities.

Before moving any further, please let us pay a close attention to the word door so that we can understand the import of this write up better.  A door has been described as ‘’a solid sheet (of wood, metal, glass etc) hung so that it permits access through or closes up an entrance‘’.  And if it is of a good quality, it will prevent intrusion, guarantee security, confidentiality and dignity.  However, it could also be an impediment if it is closed for too long because it will effectively shut out access to food, water, light, wholesome air, assistance, companionship etc.  In a situation like this, death cannot be far fetched.  But, the situation is bound to change the moment this door is re-opened.

Figuratively speaking, any situation that limits you or that makes your life continually tough can be likened to a state of closed door.  Such situations include ill health, barrenness of diverse kinds, joblessness, poverty, stagnation or regression in life, lack of meaningful assistance, debt, sin etc.  If any of these is worrying you at the moment then, be of good cheer because right now, Jesus Christ is saying ‘’…Behold I have set before you an open door (out of the situation), and no one can shut it…‘’.

The benefits of accessing the aforementioned door are many but we shall consider a few of them today because of time and space constraints.

1.  Healing.  One of the major functions that Jesus Christ performed on earth was to heal different aspects of our lives ranging from our minds and souls, to our bodies and even to our material needs (Luke 4:18).  Healing from him is still readily available today if only we can boldly access the open door that he set before us.    Jesus is not a respecter of persons and whatever he has done for others in the past; he can still do for you this time around.  Perhaps some aspects of your life or the life of somebody close to you needs healing please, access this open door today. Ask Jesus Christ to heal them and guess what? He will since he is hugely primed to do so (Act 10:38).

2.  Deliverance from barrenness.  Barrenness can manifest in diverse ways.  For example, inability to have children is a good example.  Others include poverty of ideas, stagnation or regression in life etc.  Please allow me to focus on the first category i.e. inability to have children today.  It is a very restrictive and painful experience.  It becomes more agonizing if one comes from parts of the world where failure to have children is a big issue.   In such places, life is deliberately made difficult for those affected.  To the sisters and brothers desiring to have their own children, I bring good tidings to you! And that is, today, Jesus has set before you an open door, and no one can shut it.  And by the grace of God, this door will lead you to having your own children in the name of Jesus.  Please remember that it is your inalienable right to have children (Psalm 127:3) and as far as God is concerned, barrenness and miscarriage has ceased to be a part of your life (Exodus 23:26).  So cheer up!

3.  Deliverance from sin.  Sin is a major phenomenon which we unfortunately inherited from Adam and Eve.  No one is free from it (1 John 1:8) and because of sin, it is difficult for us to escape intricate life situations which regrettably, may lead to needless death if care is not taken (Romans 6:23).  We should be happy though since Jesus has set before us an open door which no one can shut.  And accessing this door by confessing our sins and turning away from them will help us in no small way in getting rid of them (1 John 1:9).  In addition, God is also willing to deliver us from the effects of our past sins.  Prophet Hosea made allusion to this fact in Hosea 6:1 when he said: ‘’ Come, and let us return to the Lord; for he has torn, but he will heal us, he has stricken, but he will bind us up’’.  If you are yet to confess and forsake your sins and if you are yet to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior please pause a little bit and do so straight away.  You may even wish to rededicate your life to Christ if you feel a compelling need to do so.  Definitely, you stand to gain a lot from this exercise.

Friend, we have seen some of the benefits that follow the open door Jesus Christ is referring to.  As an individual, what do you hope to achieve by accessing this open door? Then why don’t you go ahead and convey it (or them) to Jesus Christ in prayer today? Things will only get better for you and not worse.  It is my fervent prayer that your expectation in life will never be cut off in Jesus name.  Amen.

Jesus is Lord!

Approach the Good Shepherd

Psalm 23 is a very popular biblical passage which many of us took to, early in life. We memorized it in our various Sunday or/and Primary Schools and in some cases, the ability to recite it was used to gauge our knowledge of the bible. Its first verse says: ”The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want”.

As you can see, the verse elucidates one of the main functions of a Shepherd i.e., providing the needs of the sheep in his care. He gives them food to eat and water to drink. He also keeps them out of harm’s way.

All religious leaders are Shepherds in their own rights since they guide or herd groups of people. There are a lot of them all over the world, presiding over congregations of various sizes; mini and mega. And unlike their counterparts that look after animals, they don’t rear their ‘sheep’ for food or for any pecuniary gains. In actual fact, they teach and direct them in the ways of the Lord and guide them towards heaven. They are also expected, as much as possible, to help their needy ‘sheep’ with their material needs.

Jesus Christ is ‘the good Shepherds’ (John 10:14) and we are His sheep. It is on record that He loves us so much, that He died for us (John 10:11, 17) and He wants us to be with Him forever (John 14:2-4). Up till now, He is doing everything possible from heaven, to make us happy, comfortable and safe.

So what is He doing for us you may wish to ask? Well, they include the following among others:

1. He defends us

One of the foremost things that Jesus does for us is to defend us from our accusers. Please remember the story of the adulterous woman (John 8:1-11). She was caught, red handed by a mob while committing adultery and she was brought to Jesus Christ for adjudication. Yes, we know that their intention was to test Him but a word from Him condemning her, would have been enough to put her to death immediately. But being the good Shepherd, Jesus defended her robustly and the crowd had no choice than to disperse; horrified and humiliated I believe, without touching her. And at the end of the day, He did not condemn her either. Guess what? He is actively defending us in the presence of God up till now (1 John 2:1). Aren’t we lucky? Friend, whatever sins you might have committed in the past, does not matter anymore. All you have to do right now is to confess and forsake them and the good Shepherd, Jesus, will forgive and defend you vigorously to the end.

2. He removes our shame

The good Shepherd is also adept at removing our shame. Please recall the wedding in Cana of Galilee (John 2:1-11), which was attended by Jesus, His disciples and His mother among others. Soon, the celebrants ran out of wine and everlasting shame was looming ahead but Jesus, the good shepherd, was on hand to bail them out by removing their shame. So what did He do? Well, He simply turned ordinary water into wine of the finest caliber which was subsequently served to the guests at the party. My dear friend, is there anything constituting shame in your life at present? Or better put, is there any issue that you dare not discuss with anyone because of the shame that it carries? If your answer is yes, then you need to approach this same Jesus, the good shepherd, today and He will remove it completely (John 8:36) to the glory of God and to the shame of the Devil. Amen.

3. He delivers us from evil

The good Shepherd is dexterous at delivering us from evil as well. Please bear in mind that He once delivered the mad man of the Gadarenes (Luke 8:26-39) who was reputed to be greatly tormented by demons and he was perpetually naked and violent and the only place that could contain him was a tomb. That was his sad story until he had an encounter with Jesus, the good Shepherd, and he was delivered. It was documented that the next time he was seen in public, he was sitting at the feet of Jesus Christ, clothed and in his right mind. This Jesus, is ready to repeat the same feat in this age and time as well (Mathew 11:28). Therefore, if you are being tormented by an evil spirit that pushes you to do what you shouldn’t do or that deters you from doing what is right, please approach Him today and He’ll deliver you. Amen.

4. He revives us

Jesus also revives us. For instance, He revived the daughter of Jairus when the need arose (Luke 8:40-56)! Jairus by the way was a ruler of the synagogue. Earlier on, he approached Jesus to revive his dying daughter and He agreed to do so. But along the line, a significant event i.e. the healing of a woman with the issue of blood of twelve years duration, cropped up and it hindered His movement. So, by the time He eventually got to her, she was already dead. But trust Jesus, the good Shepherd; not even death could stop Him from living up to expectation. Despite negative comments around, He nonetheless went to the girl and commanded her to arise and she did. That is, He revived her back to life! He is still in the business of reviving people back to life till today (John 11:25-26) and He can also revive your ailing body or business, ministry, education, career, marriage, etc. back to life if you wish (Luke 1:37). Please, approach Him today and you’ll not be disappointed by the grace of God. Amen

5. He guides us towards Heaven

The good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, in addition, guides us towards Heaven; a strikingly beautiful place (Revelation 21:9-21) and our final resting abode. However, we have to be born again first, to reach it (John 3:3). In other words, we must be ready to allow Jesus Christ to take charge of our lives as our personal Lord and Savior first. Friend, are you born again? If you are not then, I urge you to do something about that today. To begin with, confess your sin and forsake them immediately. Next, ask Jesus Christ, the good Shepherd, to forgive you and to take over your life and He is desirous of doing so (John 6:37, Revelation 3:20). It is after taking this simple but giant step, and after you have ended your journey on earth, that He will be on hand in Heaven, to usher you in royally (Matthew 25:21). But if you are already born again, I say a big BRAVO to you! May the good Lord empower you to remain steadfast to the end and may you not miss getting to Heaven for any reason in Jesus name. Amen.

The Name of Jesus is Very Powerful

Today, let us consider Acts 3:1-11.  Peter and John were going to the temple at the time of prayer.  And at the same time, a man crippled from birth was being taken to the temple gate called beautiful where he normally begged.  When he saw Peter and John, he fixed his attention on them expecting something but he got more than he expected- i.e. healing in the name of Jesus.

The following lessons can be deduced from the account above.

1.  We should pray regularly to God.  Peter and John made it a habit to pray regularly to God.  Remember that prayer is an effective tool in the hands of Christians and with it; hopeless situations can be turned around for good.  Many notable Christians were/are successful in life because they made/make it a habit to pray to God regularly.  Ben Carson for example, is a successful African American Neurosurgeon and one of the most excellent in the field globally.  When asked, he attributed his success story to his mother’s positive influence on him, hard work and most importantly, the power of prayer.  If you want to make it to the top, then make it a habit to pray to God regularly (James 5:16b).

2.  We must be focussed.  The man was focussed.  He did not allow anything or anybody to distract his attention from Peter and John.  If you want any spectacular miracle from God, then you must be prepared to focus your attention on Him at all times.  Furthermore, you must not entertain any doubt in your mind otherwise; you will not receive anything substantial from Him (James 1:6-8).

3.  The name of Jesus is very powerful.  Peter and John had no silver or gold but they had the name of Jesus which is a very powerful tool to work with.  With boldness, Peter commanded the man to walk in the name of Jesus and he did.  You too can use His name to transform your life, to stay afloat, heal the sick, set the captives free, give hope to the hopeless etc (Mark 16:17-18).  Let me assure you here that you don’t really need any special faith before using this powerful name; all you need is boldness.  Therefore, go ahead and use right now!

4.  We must exercise our faith.  The man exercised his faith by leaping, standing and walking into the temple.  If you desire a miracle today, then be prepared to exercise your faith in God.  Remember that without faith, it is impossible to please him (Hebrew 11:6) and that faith without action is dead (James 2:17).  Use the name of Jesus today and exercise your faith by doing those things which you have not been able to do hitherto and you will experience a life changing outcome.

5.  We must always praise God.  The man went into the temple walking and praising God.  Likewise you too should make it a habit to praise Him.  You should also remember to thank Him always because it is His will that we should do so (1 Thessalonians 5:18).  Do you know that by praising God, you are indirectly asking Him to come closer to you (Psalms 22:3)? And do you know that in a situation like this; miracles cannot be far from you?

6.  We must keep the company of the children of God.  This is made very plain in Hebrews 10:25.  As individuals, our capacity is very limited but if we work in partnership with other children of God, we can move mountains.  For example, as individuals, we may not be able to defeat more than one of our enemies at a time.  But if only five of us can collaborate closely, then we should be able to chase at least a hundred of them to their early grave without stress.  Now imagine what a hundred of us can achieve if we team up! Definitely ten thousand of our enemies will be exterminated (Leviticus 26:8).  The man appreciated the importance of collaborating with the children of God hence; he did not forsake their gathering.  You too must emulate him.  Don’t allow Satan to isolate you from the body of Christ!

Friends put all these lessons into practice as from today and very soon; you will be on your way to big time success.

Jesus is Lord!

In Luke Chapter 8, we can see that Jesus Christ and His disciples had a very busy day. So, at a point, He addressed them, saying: “let us GO over TO THE OTHER SIDE of the lake’’ (Luke 8: 22), ostensibly to catch some rest from the huge crowd that followed them everywhere.

Before I continue any further, I will like to spend a little time on the statement ‘GO OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE’, which is central to what Jesus Christ said in Luke 8: 22. This will enable us to understand the import of this piece better.

The statement can mean different things to different people at different times. But for the purpose of this write up, I will like us to pitch my tent with the school of thought that sees it as an instruction to shift position. That is, an instruction to move from a current position to a new one. The said position can be a street, a town, a county, a country, a school, a career, a relationship, a religion, a church, an allegiance, etc. And there are several reasons why people change their position now and again. For example, to improve their capabilities, status, earning power, or to seek better education, better life, fun, rest, security, and justice.

A lot of people also change their position (i.e. ‘GO OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE’), to align with God through Jesus Christ; having been with the Devil with dire consequences. Such people do often enjoy eye-popping benefits in the end (Luke 18:29). Some of the benefits include:

1. Peace

Peace, is one of the foremost benefits that comes with consenting to the advice, ‘Go Over to the Other Side’, where Jesus reigns.

In Luke 8:22-24, Jesus and His disciples launched out in a boat, with the aim of crossing over to the other side of the lake, apparently to rest. After a while, Jesus fell asleep, and a windstorm, which threatened their lives, came down forcefully on the lake. And the disciples became sore afraid, and they woke Jesus Christ up from His sleep lest they perished. Then, He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased. There was a great calm (peace) all around afterwards!

This same Jesus, who happens to be the Prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6), is alive and willing to rebuke all the storms and troubles in your life today and then, give you peace instead (John 14:27). However, you have to ask Him in prayer to help you first of all, and you can be rest assured that He will not ignore you (John 6:37). Please do not waste time; make the move, right now, in Jesus name. Amen.

2. Provision

In John 2:1-11, a wise couple invited Jesus Christ to their wedding ceremony. Soon, they ran out of wine and shame was looming. But Jesus came to their rescue by providing them with choice wine, which was subsequently served, and the guests were stunned, but satisfied at the end of the day. In a nutshell, Jesus turned the couple’s shame, to fame that day.

Perhaps you lack certain life changing provisions at this moment in time, and it seems there is no relief in sight, and shame is looming ahead; please ‘Go Over to the Other Side’, where Jesus is in charge. He is well suited to provide all that you need to improve your life, family, health, business, finance, education, ministry, etc. (Philippians 4:19). Not only that, He will turn what is meant for your shame, into what will earn you outstanding fame in Jesus name. Amen.

3. Protection

In John 8:1-11, a woman was caught in the act of adultery and led to Jesus Christ for condemnation and execution by stoning to death. Though, their intention was to test Jesus, but His support, even if it was feeble, would have been enough to end her life. But trust Jesus, He did not condemn her, instead He offered her robust Protection via His principled stand. He challenged them saying: “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first’’ (John 8:7). Since none of them was clean, they quietly left the scene one after the other. Not only that, Jesus later sent her away with a soothing advice that she should sin no more (John 8:11).

This same Jesus is prepared to protect you (John 10:27-28), no matter how odious your past may be. So, ‘Go Over to the Other Side’ where He reigns today, and you will be happy you did, in Jesus name. Amen.

4. Promotion

In Matthew 4:18-22, Jesus Christ invited Peter and Andrew to join His ministry, and they agreed. And for this reason, they earned instant promotion from being ordinary fishermen, to being fishers of men; a position that made them highly visible, superbly famous, and greatly revered up till now. If not for their lavish promotion, I believe they would have spent the rest of their lives ordinarily, and end up unsung and unmourn like their contemporaries.

You too can acquire a great promotion from God (Psalm 75:6-7), which will astound the whole world, and make you relevant even after you might have departed the world to be with God. But you can only acquire it through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). That is why you have got to ‘Go Over to the Other Side’ where He is waiting for you. Please don’t let this huge opportunity elude you; grab it right now, in Jesus name. Amen.

5. Salvation

Salvation is the chief of all the benefits accruable from consenting to the advice, ‘Go Over to the Other Side’, where Jesus Christ is the boss.

Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10) was a chief tax collector hence, a big time sinner. One day, he learnt that Jesus would pass through Jericho, and he sought to see Him. However, the task of doing so was too much for him owing to his short stature. So, he helped himself by climbing up into a sycamore tree. As Jesus was passing by, He looked up, saw Zacchaeus, and commanded him to come down. Immediately, he complied, and Jesus received Him joyfully. It was at this point, that some people rose up against Zacchaeus, and accused Jesus Christ of socializing with a sinner. But trust Him, He ignored their accusations, stayed in Zacchaeus’ house, and gave him salvation, which is the passport to heaven, the kingdom of God (John 3:3).

You too need salvation i.e., you need to become born again, to attain the kingdom of God, and Jesus is ready to help you, if you ‘Go Over to the Other Side’, where He reigns.

So, how can I become born again, you may wish to ask at this point in time? Well, very simple! Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. If you do these, then it is believe you have been saved (Romans 10:9), and that you are born again. It is after you might have settled all issues concerning your salvation, that you can become a member of the kingdom of God, and reap exceptional benefits like Peace, Protection, Provision, Promotion, and Salvation among others. May you never lose out on any of them, and may your joy be full now and forever, in Jesus name. Amen.
