Every one of us need miracles to occur in our lives at one time or the other, and for one reason or the other, before we exit this world. And this has nothing to do with who we are, where we come from, our families, upbringing, education, training, qualification, social class, influence, connection, etc.
For example, if you have a terminal illness, and your doctors have given up on your case, then you need a miracle to stay alive. In addition, if you are poor, weak, old, jobless, lonely, and you reside in a country where social security is non-existent, and the political leaders are grossly irresponsible and insensitive to the plight of their citizens, then you need a miracle to live decently. Besides, if you are neck deep in debt, and you have no one, and no caring system to bail you out, then, you need a miracle to remain in business, etc. You can now see that miracles are needed where we cannot help ourselves, and they are very important to our existence.
So, what are miracles, and who is responsible for them, you may wish to ask at this point? Well, miracles are extraordinary events in the physical world, which surpasses all known human or natural powers. They are equally known as wonders, marvels, sensations, spectacles, etc., and they are usually attributed to God (Psalm 77:14).
Many people in times past and these days, had respite from their grave problems through miracles from God. Hannah (1 Samuel 1:1-20) for example, was one of them! In her own case, she went through an excruciating period of childlessness, till God gave her a miracle in her son, Samuel. But she observed certain rules, which I tag ‘The Essentials for Miracles’ before she had her son, her miracle.
Today, this same God, is all out to give you astounding miracles so that you can overcome those restrictive problems that are making your life unnecessarily difficult (Isaiah 65:24). However, like Hannah, you too will have to observe the aforementioned rules first. They include:
1. You must genuinely desire a change in your condition
Above rule comes first, and it is very important! Except you genuinely desire a change in your condition, you will continue to wallow in it. Hannah genuinely desired a change in her state of childlessness, and she refused to be weighed down by the harassment and outright abuse that came from her rival Peninnah. She did not even pick up any bone with Prophet Eli when he alleged that she was drunk. Instead, she focused on her main mission to Shiloh; i.e., to seek the face of God for a change in her condition, and she was not let down at the end of the day. In the same vein, you too must genuinely desire a change in your condition, and refuse to be distracted, if you want God to perform a miracle in your life, which will change your ugly situation completely.
2. You must be prepared to pray to God
Hannah prayed to God before her condition changed (1 Samuel 1:10). Meanwhile, Apostle Paul made it abundantly clear in Philippians 4:6-7 that prayer is very crucial in getting God acquainted with our conditions. There He said: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God…”.
Friend, if you too are prepared to pray to God, He will be acquainted with your condition, and He will turn it around and give you a spectacular miracle, in Jesus name. Amen.
3. You must be prepared to Praise God
After praying to God, you must be prepared to praise Him on top. Please remember that when you praise Him, you will enter His presence (Psalm 100:4), and when you are in His presence, liberty is guaranteed (2 Corinthians 3:17). That is to say, liberty from addiction, liberty from poverty, liberty from illnesses, liberty from childlessness, liberty from joblessness, liberty from cruelty, liberty from insecurity, etc. is guaranteed.
Hannah praised God, entered His presence, and netted liberty from childlessness (1 Samuel 1:19-20). By the same token, you too must praise Him time and time again for you to enter His presence and earn a spectacular miracle, which will make mincemeat of your present unacceptable condition.
4. You must have faith in God
Hannah had so much faith in God that she made a vow that if He gave her a male child, she would give him back to God all the days of his life, and that no razor would touch his head (1 Samuel 1:11), and she fulfilled her vow.
If you are in doubt about how much God values faith in Him, then please take a look at Hebrews 11:6. It says: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”. That means, if you seriously desire an earth-shaking miracle from God, then you must do what all serious minded people do; you must develop faith in Him, and He will sort you out through a stunning miracle, in Jesus name. Amen.
Friend, I pray that from now on, God will give you stunning miracles in your family, in your health, in your business, in your ministry, in your finance, in your career, in your education, and so on. But, be prepared to observe ‘The Essentials for Miracles’ to begin with.
It is also absolutely important that you become born again, so that you can be close to the giver of life, the giver of miracles, Jesus Christ. And for this to happen, you have to invite Him into your life as your personal Lord and Savior if you haven’t yet. It is after this has been settled that you can confidently pray to God, and expect miracles from Him. These miracles shall surely come before long, and the name of the Lord shall be glorified in your life, in Jesus name. Amen.
Jesus is Lord!
