I am dedicating this write up to those who are fighting what seems like unending and painful battles in their lives at the moment. I identify myself with them, and I want them to know that some people are praying for them.
Psalm 24: 8 says: “Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle’’.
The passage above, gives us an insight into another dimension of God. Not only is He compassionate (Psalm 103:8), He is also mighty in battle, and He goes to battle not for fun, but, for our own sake (Isaiah 49:25).
Before we proceed any further, I will like us to look at the word battle more closely, so that we can better understand the import of this write-up. Battle has been defined in different ways, at different times, by different people. But, the definition I find most appropriate for our purpose, is the one that sees it as a “lengthy and difficult conflict or struggle’’.
Figuratively speaking, any condition, which has made a person’s life very difficult for a long time, and is showing no sign of abating, is a battle. Examples include long-standing financial problem, marital/family disruption, professional inertia, chronic unemployment, incapacitating illness, harmful habit, intense oppression, perpetual failure, and barrenness of all kinds. All of them by nature, are potentially disruptive and destructive, and divine help is needed to overcome them. Are you fighting any of these battles at the moment? If you are, then I have good news for you! Your days of suffering are limited, for God is set to deliver you. Hallelujah!
But, let me quickly warn you here that you may not witness any meaningful breakthrough, except you follow the right protocol. And what does it entail? To start with, you have to recognize your limitation; you cannot achieve much on your own (John 15:5). Next, you have to accept that the battle you are facing is not yours; it is the Lord’s (1 Samuel 17:47). After that, you have to invite God who is mighty in battle, to fight it on your behalf. And guess what? He will (John 6:37)! He will win it hands down with His usual clinical efficiency, and He will leave no tell tale sign behind (Hebrew 12:29).
Yes, you may have prayed and fasted for a long time concerning your battle, but as things are, respite seems to be a mirage. Please remember that your so called ‘long time’ is not necessarily long before God (2 Peter 3:8), but today, I believe He will do something new in your life (Isaiah 43:19). Jesus is also willing to give you rest if you go to Him (Matthew 11:28).
friend, your victory has been set for an appointed time, and it will surely come without fail. All you have to do from now on is to be patient (Habakkuk 2:3). Please do not give up!
I am trusting God to place you in a position where you can join other people to boldly declare like the Israelites, that, “When the lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, the Lord has done great things for them, the Lord has done great things for us and we are glad’’ (Psalm 126:2&3).
May the good Lord keep you to the end, so that you can experience unbelievable positive changes to your circumstance(s), in Jesus name. Amen.
Jesus is Lord!
