YOU WILL LAUGH AGAIN!

The Lord appeared to Abraham in Genesis 18: 1-15, and he (Abraham), entertained Him very well. Consequently, God promised him that his wife, Sarah, who was barren, would have a son. But she laughed, in derision!

Sarah laughed because she couldn’t fathom why she and her husband, both of them, entirely beyond childbearing, could have a child together. She felt God’s pronouncement concerning them was laughable. Her action did not go down well with God!

Nonetheless, God still fulfilled His promise in Genesis 21: 1-7, by setting aside all known and time-tested physiological principles on childbearing, and Sarah gave birth to her son, Isaac. Then, she laughed again, this time around, for joy and awe at the power of God.

I presume many people would do what Sarah did if they were in her position. For example, how do you think a woman without a womb would react if someone told her she would be pregnant and give birth to a child within nine months? How do you think a person who has an incurable disease, and at the point of dying, would react if told he or she would become well, contrary to expert medical opinion?

What about those who have been declared irredeemably bankrupt? How do you think they would react if someone told them they would be financially solvent within a few days, whereas there is nothing concrete on the ground to back up such a position? ETC. I believe they would laugh in derision like Sarah!

Are you like the people mentioned above? Have you laughed in derision regarding God’s promise(s) for your life in the past? Have you concluded He cannot do much for you judging by your present dire state? If you have, then I have good news for you! You will laugh again, this time around, for joy and awe at the power of God.

You will laugh again because He will do all things to accommodate you in His plans (Isaiah 45:2-3). He will give you children if you have none (Psalm 127:3). He will heal you (Jeremiah 33:6), and if you are hard up, He will satisfy you, and you will have enough left to do good work (2 Corinthians 9:8).

God will not withhold a great job from you (Psalm 84:11). Are you confused? If you are, He will direct you (Psalms 32:8). Maybe some people are making life difficult for you right now; cheer up, for He will deal with them in his way (1 Peter 4:4-5), and you will have peace all around you if you trust Him (Isaiah 26:3).

Is your marriage falling apart? Is your business or ministry in shambles? As a student, are you finding it challenging to pass prescribed examinations? And as a professional, are you finding it hard to make good progress in your profession? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then please relax, God is all set to put things right for you!

But you have to seek Him diligently concerning your heart’s desire(s) first; you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13), and He will reward you accordingly (Hebrews 11:6). Please, get ready to laugh from now on, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Jesus is Lord!
